Filoli Gardens is truly a paradise for any flower lover. Each year we attend Filoli’s Spring Fling just before Easter. Mostly it’s a day spent outdoors exploring all the blossoms of the season, but there’s also docent-led nature walks, orchard tours, live music, giant bubbles (courtesy of Sterling Johnson, a.k.a. “The Bubblesmith”), a dog agility sports show, Easter arts and crafts, the Easter Bunny, spring plant potting, flower arranging demonstrations, homemade jams/jellies/honey/herb mixes/dips, a ballroom magic show and puppet show, storytelling, hand and face painting, a miniature horse and two alpacas. Whew!
Filoli also has three greenhouses where you can view plants that have been in the collection since 1920. Filoli’s amazing and exquisite 654-acre property located in Woodside, California was built in 1917 and opened to the public in 1976 to promote horticultural endeavors.
Our kids love attending Filoli’s Spring Fling every year. It is an annual tradition and longtime favorite for many families living in the San Francisco Bay area.

The kids’ most favorite attraction though is “The Bubblesmith”. He’s been perfecting bubbles for 45 years and can make the biggest bubbles you’ve ever seen! Today he revealed his bubble making “secret” – his bubble solution consists of Dawn dishwashing liquid, Mr. Bubbles liquid, glycerin, and water.

Here’s some past and present photos from our Filoli adventures…
