If you’re strapped for time this holiday season (like we are!) but still want to do a Christmas related project with the family, here’s a super simple craft project you can easily finish in a half hour or so.
You’ll need large and small popsicle sticks, decorative sequins or any other small holiday related decorations, a hot glue gun, paintbrushes, paint colors of your choice, a pencil, a hairdryer and heavy duty scissors.
Start out by evenly spacing the smaller popsicle sticks over a large one, then use a pencil to mark the edges you will cut off.
Cut off the ends of the smaller sticks to form the shape of the tree, then hot glue each one down evenly spaced on the large stick.
Let the kids get busy painting their trees. In this case, green on top, brown for the base.
Then dry it with a hair dryer to speed up the decorating fun.
Choose items to decorate the tree, hot glue them down and you’re done!
We used our sequin and stick Christmas trees to adorn homemade holiday cards…
… and decorate our tree …
… but you can use them for just about anything like a wall, window or fireplace mantel decoration.
Our kids loved this project so much they wanted to do it twice in one week! And my 19 year old niece really enjoyed making some of her own too. It’s a festive art project the whole family can enjoy.
